Obituary for Mary Jo Harrison Knight (Harrison)

Mary Jo Harrison Knight (Harrison)
On Saturday, December 30, 2017, Mary Jo Harrison Knight, 69, of Salem, went to be with the Lord after a prolonged illness.
Mary Jo lived her life in the moment. She loved to be going, it never mattered where. She loved people, especially babies, the elderly, and her animals. She loved to sing and she loved the Lord. The family will miss that big smile and loud voice.
Mary Jo was employed in the healthcare industry as a nurse’s aide for 15 years. She also worked for several years at Goodwill Industries. She volunteered extensively at the Red Cross, Lewis Gale Medical Center and the SPCA.
She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas (Lawrence) Harrison. She is survived by her mother, Mary Elizabeth Harrison; and two sisters, Nancy Schwalm and husband, Louis and Annette Davidson and husband, Kenny.
We would like to give special thanks to the staff at the Joseph C. Thomas Center for all the love and care they gave her and the quality of life they provided her over the last couple of years.
We would also like to extend our special thanks to Teddy Caudell who she considered to be her best friend and to Dianne Gray for the friendship and kindness she extended to Mary Jo. Both were always there whenever Mary Jo needed them.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to the American Lung Association in her name.
