Nancy Sue McNeil Tolbert, 76, of Salem, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, October 26, 2016. Nancy was the eldest daughter of seventeen children. She was a beloved wife and mother who loved her kids, grandchildren, and all of her siblings. She was a very hardworking and compassionate woman. Nancy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Troy and Doan McNeil; parents, Hunter and Grace McNeil; son, Thomas Tolbert, Jr.; sisters, Connie Mullins, Sandy Feik, and Jackie Vaughn; brothers, Edward McNeil and Robert McNeil; and son-in-law, Donald Wheeling. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 61 years, Jack Tolbert; children, Debbie (Danny)) Tolbert Spradlin and Crissy (Scott) Tolbert Taylor; grandchildren, Donald Wheeling, Jamie Ervine, and Paige Taylor; great-grandchildren, Alyssa Wheeling and Colin Maddy; great, great-child, George Wheeling; sisters, Bobbie Humphrey, Donnie Dodd, Elsie Dunbar, Diane McNeil, Lynn Mays, Lisa McGhee, and Tammy McNeil; and brothers, Mike McNeil, Randy McNeil, Ricky McNeil, and Matt McNeil. A period of visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Sunday, October 30, 2016 at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, October 31st, 2016 at the funeral home with Pastor Troy Mays officiating. The daughters would like to extend a special thanks to her sister, Lisa McGhee, for going above and beyond to provide loving care and support for their loving mother.
