Condolence: Peg, We were surprised and saddened to learn of Jim's death. We remember nice chats when he was out walking the dog, his gentle smile, and his wonderful ice cream. The neighborhood will miss him!

Condolence: Dear Peggy & family, I worked with Jim at HSMM for several years in the early 1990’s. We both lived in Blacksburg and carpooled together. Jim was my mentor as an engineer but more so a good friend. He taught me (somewhat of a city boy) how to fish properly. Although I only saw him every few years after I moved away from Blacksburg, I will always remember Jim as a gentle, generous, calm, and caring person.

Condolence: Oh Peggy & Family. I am so saddened to hear of Jim's passing. He was a great guy, and Peggy , you and Jim just instantly made everyone around you, feel like part of the family. Will always cherish the good memories. Please take good care and know you are all in my heart and prayers during this bittersweet & heartbreaking time. You know he's golfing and laughing and free of the troubles the living have. I know it's not much comfort just now... but Know that you all got the BEST guardian Angel that ever could be. Love to you Peggy and family!

Condolence: Dear Peggy and Family,

My deepest sympathies go to you for the loss of a wonderful husband, brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a dear person and a wonderful friend as well. I enjoyed very much the brief time that I had with him. We had some great experiences and conversations on the golf course and on the river. He was so easy to talk with. He loved life. He loved his family. I count myself fortunate to have known him. I know you are going to miss him greatly, but please know that many others whom he touched will miss him also.

With kindest thoughts to all of you who loved and supported Jim.

Condolence: Peggy & family,
So very sorry to hear about Jim. It has been too long since we were all on Elysian Circle. I have many fun and wonderful memories from those days and the Fowlers were a big part of my teenage years. Your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.
Love to you all,
Jane
