Irene Jacqueline Ringger Balbalian, of Salem, departed on Friday, April 24, 2015 and went to her heavenly home to be with her Lord. Among her many accomplishments, her greatest during her presence with us was to save the life of her husband through her steadfast love, support, and devotion for which he will be eternally grateful. He has told her so numerous times. As was typical of Irene, she would say in return, “thank you,” and flash a bright smile. In her youth, she was a Rainbow Girl.

Irene bravely endured long-term health issues without abandoning the care for her family. Surviving Irene are her husband, Joseph, after nearly 55 years of marriage; son, Craig; daughter, Clarissa; daughter-in-law, Patricia (Trish); 3 step-grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; 3 nephews; 1 niece; and their families.

The Methodist Church was an ever present part of her life where she happily enjoyed being of service to her church family. Irene’s family is thankful for their support and for the good, warm care she received at the Snyder Nursing Home in Salem.

A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church in Salem at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Salem, Snyder Nursing Home, or a charity of choice.
