Rebecca Witt Wygal, 66, of Salem, passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2014. She was born on October 23, 1947, in Roanoke, to the late William Garland Witt and Lena Mignon Abbott Witt. She was a leader for the Girl Scouts for numerous years and thoroughly enjoyed every experience she had with her troops. Mom was always active in the PTA during our school years to assist in important decisions for the school system. She was most recently employed in Real Estate where she acquired numerous friendships within the industry, and was also a member of Fort Lewis Baptist Church. Above all, she will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and will truly be missed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Sylvia Epps and Debra Stump. Family remaining to cherish her memory includes her daughters, Leslie Wygal Graham and Stacey Wygal Leverett and husband, Jonathan; grandchildren, Stephanie Graham Lawrence and husband, Timothy, Nathan Clements and Lily K. Graham; great-grandchildren, Bentley Haynes and Keeley Lawrence; brothers, Danny G. Witt, Sr. and wife, Wanda and Michael N. Witt and wife, Mary Ellen; and sister, Lynelle Pruett and husband, Michael Pruett, Sr. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 10, 2014 from 3 until 5 p.m. at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. An online guestbook is available by visiting www.johnmoakey.com.
