Glynda Hancock  Bolt (Hancock)
Glynda Hancock Bolt, 71, of Riner, went to be with Jesus, her Savior, on August 17, 2014. Glynda was born on January 4, 1943. She grew up in Floyd County and graduated from Willis High School in 1961. She went on to earn a degree in Elementary Education from Radford University in 1964. She retired from Salem City Schools after 30 years of teaching. Glynda is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Glenn; two daughters Ellen Griffith and her husband, Travis of Salem, Alison Semones and her husband, Brandon of Christiansburg; grandchildren, Carly Griffith, Claire Griffith, Eden Semones, Isaac Semones and Ella Semones; sister Hilda Collins. Glynda is preceded in death by her parents, Elvin and Iva Hancock. Glynda's life will be remembered for the way she deeply loved God, her family, and for how she served others in her community and church. A service celebrating her life will be held at John M. Oakey and Son; Salem, on August 20, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Roanoke.
