Obituary for Iva Willett Brugh

Iva Willett Brugh, 94, of Salem, Va., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 16, 2019.

Iva was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother; everyone loved her dearly. Most of her adult life was spent in Salem raising her children. She and her beloved husband of 55 years, Paul, retired to Smith Mountain Lake and enjoyed 15 years together there. Prior to passing, Iva returned to the Roanoke Valley for the last 23 years of her life to be closer to family.

Iva was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Gish Brugh; her grandson, José Laron Camina II; and her sisters, Thelma Byrd and Dot Webster.

She is survived by her sister, Geneva Brock; her daughter, Donna Miller and husband Del; her daughter, Janet Brugh; her sons Dan Brugh and wife Bonnie; Bob Brugh and wife Phyliss; Joe Brugh. Surviving grandchildren are Danyel, Paige, Jason, Jennifer, Jesse, Jacob, and Zachary Brugh; she is also survived by six great-grandchildren: Lily, Iva, William, Laci, Trent, and Patrick. We will forever cherish our memories of her.

The family also wants to thank Trisha Simms for all of her support and comfort during the last months of Iva’s life.

Family will receive friends at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home & Crematory 305 Roanoke Blvd. Salem, Va. 24153 on Friday, February 22, 2019 from 6-8 pm. A private gravesite service for family will be held on Saturday.
