Obituary for Marian W. "Maggie" Farris (Weincyzk)

Marian W. “Maggie” Farris, 63, of Salem, went to be with her Lord, surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, February 3, 2019.

She was born November 28, 1955 in Roanoke, a daughter of the late John and Louise Cunningham Weincyzk and had been a Salem area resident all of her life. She was employed for many years as a caregiver. Maggie enjoyed Facebook, chatting on the phone with sisters, and mostly spending time with her grandchildren, daughters, family and friends. She was a loving and caring person who had a heart of gold and never met a stranger. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Mark and John Weincyzk.

She is survived by her loving husband, and her world for over thirty years, James A. Farris; three daughters, Tracy Hartman and husband Eddie, Angela Tincher and boyfriend Darryl Thompson; Melissa Epperson; three brothers, Tony Weincyzk and wife Diane, Malcom Tolley, Michael Tolley and wife Tammy; four sisters, Virginia Walton, Helen James, Mary Setchel, and Martha Dickson and husband Roger; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, her special friend, Chelsea Stephenson, and her constant companion, her Yorkie-Poo, Cynder.

Funeral services will be held at 11AM, Thursday, February 7, 2019 at the Chapel of John M. Oakey & Son, Salem. Pastor Rick Elmore will officiate.
