Robert Ray  Russell
Robert Ray Russell, age 62, of Elliston, Va. went to be with the Lord peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, August 23, 2018 in Salem, Va. He was born on Thursday, January 12, 1956 to the late Earl and Geneva Kelly Russell. Robert was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He had a tremendous love for music and was an avid fisherman and enjoyed being outdoors, he took pride in being a part of the Adams Construction family. When football was concerned, he was a huge Tennessee Vols fan!
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 44 years, Vicki Russell; daughter, Jennifer East and husband, Eric; grandsons, Warren Michael East and Calvin Ray East; sister, Esther Russell and Mike Henderson; brother-in-law, Donald Bates, Jr. and wife, Jamie; niece and nephew, Drew and Katie; mother-in-law, JoAnn Bates; and many close friends and family members.
A celebration of his life will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, August 26, 2018 at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Gearheart officiating.
Friends may visit with the family from 2-4 p.m. at the funeral home on Sunday.
