The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of John Wright can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Obituary for John Patrick Wright Jr.

John Patrick Wright Jr.
John Patrick Wright, Jr., 82, of Roanoke, died in Christ February 22, 2018.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia, and son, Michael. He is survived by his brother, Jerry (Susan); daughters, Sandy (Lynn) and Tammy, his son Tim (Michelle), and daughter-in-law, Karen. During his last days God allowed him to see all his grandchildren: Mark, Remington, Kasey, Zachary, Kristina, and Jacob.

Pat retired from Potomac Electric Power Company in 1993 and moved to Roanoke where he started his own trophy and sports awards business, "Lasting Impressions." However, his true lasting impressions will be his crazy dance moves, dedication to coaching football and baseball, bright blue eyes, love for family, and, most importantly, faith. Pat knew his Lord and Savior was waiting for him with arms wide open, and Pat was able to fall into those arms. Pat would want all of us to "go slow" in life - enjoy the small things, not take things too seriously, because Jesus is our true joy and source of life.

A service to celebrate Pat’s life will be held at 1PM, Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Garst Mill Presbyterian Church where Pat attended faithfully for the past two decades. An online guest book is available for family friends by visiting www.johnmoakey.com.
