Agnes Bailey Lovelace, 70, of Salem, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 5, 2017. Mrs. Lovelace was born May 31, 1947 in Blackey, Virginia, a daughter of the late Charley Bailey and Macie Mae Stacey Bailey. She was a devoted wife, mother, and granny who adored her grandchildren. She was a wonderful cook and a faithful wife for 52 years. Agnes was passionate about the children’s ministry at Lafayette United Methodist Church of which she was a loyal member. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Edna Asbury, Violet Vance, Veneda Cline, and Erma Blankenship; brothers, Edward Bailey, Louis Bailey, Leonard Bailey, Charlie Bailey, Woodrow Bailey and Oval Bailey. Her surviving family includes her husband, Chuck Lovelace; son, Marty Lovelace and wife, Kim; grandchildren, Hunter, Noah & Camryn Lovelace; sisters, Audrey Rowe and Esther Greene; brother, Joe Bailey; and lifetime friends, Connie Ferrell and Patty Starkey. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, October 9, 2017 at the funeral home with Pastor Jeane Dunkum officiating. An interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family would like to thank Dr. Bonnie Culkin, Intrepid Hospice, and Pastor Jeane. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
