Obituary for Ann Cook Conner

Ann Cook Conner, 81, of Salem, passed away Saturday, September 30, 2017.

She was born March 13, 1936, in Covington, VA, the daughter of the late Clarence Cook and Juanita Cook Brumfield. Ann was a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church serving on numerous committees. She loved her family and her cats. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Conner, Jr., her son, Thomas W. Conner, and a brother, Courtney W. Cook.

Ann is survived by her son, Courtney Lewis Conner and wife Barbara; her daughter, Mary Lynn Grubb and husband Jerry; and three grandchildren, Matthew Grubb, Conner Grubb and Kate Conner.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 PM, Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at John M. Oakey & Son, Salem. A graveside service will be held at 11AM, Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Cedar Hill Cemetery, 1521 S. Carpenter Dr., Covington, VA. While flowers will be appreciated, donations in her honor may be made to your local SPCA.
