Obituary for Ruth Fisher Wilklow

Ruth Fisher  Wilklow
Ruth Johnston Fisher Stafford Wilklow, 76, of Salem, and formerly of Pearisburg, went to her Heavenly home in the presence of her family following a battle with cancer.
She was a graduate of Pearisburg High School, and was employed at Haley Toyota for over 20 years. Following her retirement, she worked as a receptionist at Renaissance Salon in Salem. Ruth was a very devoted wife and mother, loving sister and part of the Fisher Sisters singing group. She attended Sheffey Memorial Methodist Church and had a strong faith in God.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank P. Fisher, Sr. and Grace Johnston Fisher; and four brothers, Bill Fisher, Doug Fisher, Frank “Junior” Fisher, Jr. and Bud Fisher.
She is survived by her loving husband Richard “Dick” Wilklow; two sons, Richard Stafford (Marsha) and Ronald Stafford (Laura); one daughter, Connie Stephens (Tim), two step-daughters, Karen Evans and Laura Hill (Jim); grandchildren, Jonathan, Christopher, Stefan, Samantha, Adrianne, Faith, Kristen, Jordan, Cole, Carson, Travis, Sarah, and R.J.; 8 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Muriel Beavers, Clara O’Brien (Pat), Anna Harrell and Mary Coulthard (Curtis); two brothers, Edward Fisher (Anneliese) and David Fisher (Nancy) as well as numerous nieces, nephews other extended family members and friends.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staffs of Blue Ridge Cancer Care and Good Samaritan Hospice
A Celebration of her life will be held at 4PM, Saturday, December 1, 2018 at John M. Oakey & Son Chapel, Salem. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 3PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Good Samaritan Hospice 2408 Electric Rd. Roanoke, VA 24018
