Rebecca Alexander Wood, 93, of Salem, died on Tuesday, October 23, 2018. She is preceded in death by her parents, the Rev. Homer Byerle and Minnie Bowman Alexander; brothers, Homer B. Alexander, Jr. and Robert Bowman Alexander, DDS; and half siblings, Gordon W. Alexander and Pauline B. Alexander Melton.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, John L. Wood; daughter, Rebecca Leigh Wood; son, John Alexander “Alex” Wood (Wendy); brother, Joseph Alexander, DDS (Paige); and two grandchildren, Maxwell Adam Wood and Ellen Amelia Wood.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Sherwood Memorial Park, Salem. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. at Salem Presbyterian Church, Salem, followed by a reception.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Rebecca to any of the following: Salem Presbyterian Church, Salem Rescue Squad, or Good Samaritan Hospice.
