Condolence: Carol Jean, I was saddened to learn of Bill’s passing. During his distinguished years of service at IBM, he operated with a unique style, oftentimes challenging the status quo to bring about positive change to the organization. He was highly respected by his colleagues and helped to launch successful careers of several employees by mentoring them during their early years. He placed the utmost value on customer service and maintained excellent relationships with senior level executives at Virginia Tech and Norfolk Southern. It was my great honor to serve as his manager during the late 80’s. The experience working with him was indelible, leaving behind lessons learned that have remained with me throughout my career. Bill retired from IBM as a legend, blazing a trail of successful achievements few could ever reach. He was a great friend that I will remember forever. Rest in peace Bill. Steve Morgan
