William “Bill” Andrew Doss, 83, of Salem and formerly of Concord, went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 13, 2018.
Bill was a retired conductor of 42 years from Norfolk Southern. He loved the beach particularly Myrtle beach and visiting with his special friends. Bill was a caring man who would do anything for anybody and was also avid about making donations to the Cancer Society. Also, he was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Concord, Va..
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, John Alfred Doss and Florence (Smith) Doss; and daughter, Darlene Doss.
Left to cherish his memory are wife of 20 years, Norma A. Doss; daughter, Kristie Bushman and husband, John; stepdaughter, Susie Sones; granddaughter, Ashlyn Grace Bushman; step-granddaughter, Suzanne Long and husband, David; step-great-grandchildren, Millie and Charlotte; sister, Helen Phelps and husband, Alvin; niece, Karen Blankenship and husband, Mike; special friends, Larry and Vickie Ennis, Doug and Barbara Allen, Doug and Jill Bauchom, Pete Taylor and Susan Sublett, Mark and Shaneque Wofford; and ex-wife, Juanita Doss.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem. A graveside service at 2 p.m. on Friday, August 17, 2018 at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Roanoke, with military honors.
