Jane Furst Winslow, 91, of Roanoke, Va., passed away Friday, August 24, 2018.

She was born in Lamar Township, Pa., a daughter of the late George Barner Furst and Amanda Elizabeth Sager Furst and had resided in Falls Church, Va. for over 35 years prior to relocating to the Roanoke/Salem area 21 years ago. She was employed as a teacher for Fairfax County Public School System prior to retiring. Jane was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Salem.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Melvin Leroy Winslow; twin sister, Mary Masden; and brother, Fred Furst.

She is survived by two sons, Herbert Winslow and wife, Carolyn, and Kenneth Winslow and wife, Linda; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, August 27, 2018, at the Chapel of John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem, with the Rev. Bobby Pickle and Chaplain Roy Miller officiating. Interment will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 29, 2018, at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Mill Hall, Pa.
