Patricia Gail Blevins, 69, of Elliston, VA peacefully completed her earthly journey and joyfully went home on June 7, 2018.
Pat was a beacon of love and hope to everyone she met therefore her passing is not a time of sorrow, but rather a celebration of a life well lived. Despite a challenging childhood, Pat never dwelled on the past, but lived each day as if it were a fresh start. We were blessed to learn many valuable lessons from Pat during her 69 years. Those include: live each day positively; project love; treat everyone equally and respectfully; work hard; be playful and laugh; and keep life simple enjoying the small things, such as the first snow, a blooming flower, and the love of a stray cat.
Left to live her example is her loving husband of 24 years David Blevins; daughter, Melissa Aldridge and her husband Fred; two step-sons, Shaun David Blevins, Sr. and wife Jessica, and Adam Daniel Blevins, and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, Doris Miller, and three brothers, George, Phil and Ronald.
A celebration of Pat’s life will be held at 6PM, Sunday, June 10, 2018 at the Chapel of John M. Oakey & Son, Salem. Lay Pastor Carl McDaniel will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 4PM at the funeral home.
