Obituary for Kenneth Barnes Rowe

Kenneth B. Rowe, 75, of Catawba, VA, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 20, 2018. He was born in Richlands, VA on September 7, 1942. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. Kenny was a member of Grace Assembly of God and loved his church family. He was employed with Fleming Foods for 37 years.
Kenny was predeceased by his father, Perry Rowe and his mother, Rachel Rowe; brothers, Perry D. Rowe, Lloyd Rowe, Harold Rowe, Glen Rowe, Dainey Donald Rowe, and Larry Rowe; and sister-in-law, Emogene Rowe.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Lola Taylor Rowe; daughters, Debbie Frith (Kenny), Lisa Broyles (Len), and Melissa Dillon (Alfred). He was affectionately known as "D-daddy" to his seven grandchildren, Kara Holdren Dilleo (John), Emily Holdren Fifer (Michael), Aaron Broyles, Alicia Dillon Clegg (Jay), Al Dillon, Jr., Austin Broyles, and Evan Broyles (Bayle) Kasey Christman (Scott); three great-granddaughters, Violet Broyles, Vivienne Dilleo, and Ayrabella Broyles; three great-grandsons Baby Dilleo (due May 2018), Riley Christman, and Carter Christman; brothers, Kermit Rowe (Jackie), Ted Rowe (Carolyn) and Maurice Rowe (Brenda); sisters-in-law, Mary Jane Rowe, Linda Lovell, Peggy Halsey, and Sandra Abbott; brother-in-law, Willis Taylor (Loraine); along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff of the Veterans Medical Center in Salem, VA for providing such wonderful care for the past several years. Also to Raleigh Court Rehabilitation Center Staff for the love and care provided during his stay there.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Grace Assembly of God, 5530 Catawba Valley Drive, Catawba, VA with Pastor Loraine Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Grace Assembly of God and Veterans Medical Center Fisher House, Richmond, VA (richmondfisherhouse.org).
