Obituary for Tracey Lynn Lucado (Lucado)

Tracey Lynn Lucado, 45, of Roanoke, found her eternal peace on Tuesday, January 16, 2018. She fought a very courageous battle with cancer and is now at peace, free from all her pain and suffering. She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, W.E. “Curly” and Orpha Hale; paternal grandparents, Jim and Mary Lucado; and uncles, William “Willie” Hale and Mickey Surratt.
Left to cherish her memory are mother, Loretta Lucado; father, Earl Lucado and wife, Judy; daughter, Brandy Ballenger and husband, Casey; son, Dakota McDaniel; grandchildren, Lilly and Kendra Ballenger; special aunt, Dianne Gray; special brothers, Brian and Jeff Gray; aunts, Bessie Duncan and husband, Kenneth, Blanche Brower, Ellen Teaford and husband, Bill, and Edith Surratt; uncles, David Hale and wife, Frances, Branch Hale, and Hugh Hale and wife, Rita; cousins and friends too numerous to mention; the love of her life, Kenny Hodge; and special caregiver and friend, “My Old Man”, Bobby Hawks.
Bobby loved and took great care of Tracey from the very beginning to the very last minute of her journey. She and Bobby shared a great life together and will meet again in Heaven one day.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Blue Ridge Cancer Care, in particular to Angela Route, and Carilion Hospice for their continuous care.
Donations may be made in Tracey’s memory to Roanoke Valley’s Habitat for Humanity or The American Cancer Society.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, January 19, 2018 with an hour prior visitation at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem.
