First of all, I'd like to say that I'm so very thankful to Inez, Michael and Kathy for their warm friendship throughout the years. I have always been amazed at Michael's concern and attention to his mother's needs, with a helping of good humor. I posted this on my Facebook page after Inez's passing.
My lovely friend passed away peacefully at 10:12 this evening.
Inez took me into her home at a difficult time in my life. She needed company, I needed stability. She would take tangles out of my hair while telling me her harrowing memories of life in Germany during WWII. She was quick-witted and brutally honest. She rarely liked my outfits and told me so as I left for work in the morning...and most of my shoes were frivolous.
She was painstakingly organized and cultured. She was unexpectedly stern toward me when I told her I was going to the opera but would only be able to stay for half of it. “You can’t go to half an opera,” she scolded and turned to her dog Nellie, saying, “Don’t talk to Karen!”
I have a few of her special things with me that I will forever treasure and more memories than I can write.
Much love and peace to Michael Robert Good and Kathy Good their loving friendship.
(I stayed for the entire opera, Puccini’s Turandot, where the queen finally found love. I cried, thank you, Inez and Gute Nacht, )
