Douglas Leroy  Puckett
Douglas L. Puckett, 80, of Salem, passed away Saturday, December 2, 2017.

A native and lifelong resident, Doug retired as a corrections officer from the Botetourt Corrections Center following many years of service. He enjoyed planting flowers, sports cars; the comradery at Happy’s Flea Market and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.

He is survived by his loving wife, Deborah Rakes Puckett; daughter, Kristen Puckett, and grandson Zamari Gibson. Doug is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and other extended family members.

Funeral services will be held at 2PM, Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at the Chapel of John M. Oakey & Son, Salem. The Rev. Eddie Strickland will officiate. Burial will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM, Tuesday at the funeral home. An online guest book is available for family and friends by visiting www.johnmoakey.com.
