Obituary for Jason Edward Price

Jason Edward Price
Jason Edward Price, 46, of Salem, Va., passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2017, after a courageous and fierce battle with Leukemia.

Jason was born and raised in Roanoke, Va. to Joan and Arthur Price who survive him.

He was preceded in death by his son, Gavin Arthur Price.

In addition to his parents, Jason leaves behind his wife of 17 years, Susan Tarkington Price; their children, Conner Ashby, Parker Delaney, and Keegan Banks; his brother, Arthur Clifton, Jr.; and many special family members and friends.

He graduated from Glenvar High School and went on to attend the University of Tennessee. He was an active member of Salem Baptist Church, and was the regional operations manager for Lebanon Seaboard Corporation. He had a passion for sports (especially baseball), fishing, hunting, coaching, and coming up with new recipes.

Jason was happiest when spending time with his family and friends. Jason would say his greatest accomplishment is his three kids, whom he absolutely cherished. Through his word and by his example, he was able to teach them a lifetime of lessons during his short time with them. He fought his Leukemia the way he lived his life - with courage, honor, humility, and faith.

We would like to thank our family and friends who have been steadfast with their love and support. The family would also like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Jennifer Vaughn and Jolee Preston of Blue Ridge Cancer Care as well as all of the 10-S staff at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was loved.

Friends may gather from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, September 29, 2017, at Salem Baptist Church. Please enter through the glass doors facing Broad Street or at the playground entrance in the rear. Visitation with the family will take place in the fellowship hall while viewing of the body will reverently be held in the sanctuary. The funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 30, 2017, also at Salem Baptist Church, with the Rev. Everett Kier officiating. Interment will immediately follow at East Hill Cemetery.
