Obituary for William Van Hoffman

William V. Hoffman, “Sweet William”, of Salem, Va., passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2017.

He started his life in Elgin, Ill., on Sunday, July 23, 1933, with his parents, Ivan Anton Hoffman and Laura Louise Miller Hoffman. After serving in the Navy and graduating from DeVry University, Bill then moved to Albuquerque, N.M. to work for Sandia National Laboratories as an Electronic Technician. Almost 30 years later, he retired to “The Villages” in Lady Lake, Fla. for 28 more years of fun in the sun.

His was preceded in death by his wife, Zeanna Frankie Hoffman.

He is survived by his sister, Nancy Danner and her husband, Robert; daughter, Lorraine Lee Galbraith and her companion, John Eckman; son, Van Michael Hoffman and wife, Sarah Hobbs Hoffman; his children’s mother, Mara Ann Hoffman; stepchildren, Alvin Becker, Bryan Becker, and Pamela Cote; and eight grandchildren.

Celebration of life arrangements will be made at a later date.
