Obituary for Shirley Jean Crockett (Rock)

Shirley Jean Crockett (Rock)
Shirley Jean Crockett, 69, of Salem, went to be with the Lord on Friday, 23, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Oma Rock; brothers, Don and Lewis; and sisters, Millie, Mary, Freda, and Barbara.
Left to cherish her memory are children, Becky Surber and husband, Rick, Doug Crockett and wife, Ginny, and Donnie Crockett and wife, Tonya; sister, Linda Mollette; grandchildren, Darren, Aaron, Corey, Amanda, Kayla, Tristian, and Kayli; great-grandchildren, Mia, Karen, Ryleigh, and Lakyn; very special best friend, Ellen; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Shirley always had a special place in her heart for her plants even if it meant having her son, Donnie, watering them for her when she could not. She was a woman that kept a smile on her face and her words sweet. Even against the odds of her illness, she stayed positive and kind-hearted.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem, with a visitation one hour prior. A committal service will be held at Crawford Cemetery at 2 p.m. later that day.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Brandon Oaks Nursing Home’s staff for their continuous compassion.
