Condolences

Condolence From: Cody Lowe
Condolence: My sincere condolences to all of Lonnie's family for your loss.

I met Lonnie in 1978 when I was a newcomer to the copy desk here. Always a gentleman, Lonnie willingly shared his institutional memory, helping a number of us who had arrived from different states get to know the region we were helping cover.

Lonnie frequently spoke lovingly of his family, his church and Scouting. Quite a legacy for those who loved and knew him.

Condolence: I knew Lonnie at The Roanoke Times & World-News from 1978, when I started working there on the copy desk, till he retired. He worked dayside and I was mainly nightside, so our paths didn't cross often, but I remember him well. He was the epitome of a deskman from the glory days of newspapering, and a rock on the dayside desk that got the afternoon paper out. So sorry for your loss.
