Obituary for Misty Gale Barbour (Barbour)

Misty Gale Barbour, 59, of Roanoke, passed away Thursday, May 11, 2017 at LewisGale Medical Center in Salem.
She was born in Roanoke on September 5, 1957, a daughter of the late Dalton Julius Barbour and Jean Delores Parrish Barbour. A lifetime resident of the Roanoke Valley, Misty was a proud veteran of the United States Army and served in 64 Charlie and the 82nd Airborne Division of which she was Honorably Discharged. She was, also, a graduate of Virginia Western Community College where she received an Associate’s Degree in Psychology and also attended Mary Baldwin College.
Misty is survived by her life partner, Doris J. Harris, of 32 years; daughter, Stormy Barbour; son, Skye Barbour; grandson, Connor Daniel Harmon; granddaughter, Gianna Shade Barbour; and sister, Wendy Leigh Barbour.
A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 18, 2017 from the Chapel of John M. Oakey & Son with Chaplain Dave Vanderpool officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 2:00 P.M.
