Obituary for Cy Eric "Bullet" Thomas
Cy Eric "Bullet" Thomas, 68, of Salem, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2017.
He was born on Wednesday, December 29, 1948 in Martins Ferry, Ohio. Eric loved his music, computer, eating, watching TV, smoking, and having his best friend, Fletcher the family dog, by his side. He spent his working career with the railroad, retiring from Norfolk Southern.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald F. Thomas; his brother, Marc Thomas; and sister, Pam Ott.
Eric is survived by his wife, Betty DeHart Thomas; mother, Mary; step-father, Edward Oechsli; sons, Eric Thomas and wife, Crista; Jason Thomas and wife, Sue; step-children, Ricky and wife, Tammy, and Tonya and Sonya DeHart; 4 grandchildren; 9 step-grandchildren; 1 step-great-grandchild; brother, Donald Thomas and wife, Fran; and sisters, Sharon Tschune, Sandra Codeluppi, and Barbara Thomas.
The family would like to thank Good Samaritan Hospice and the staff on 3 East at Richfield Recovery & Care Center for their care of Eric over the last year.
The family will receive visitors from 3 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2017 in the John M. Oakey & Son Chapel in Salem. A memorial service will then follow, beginning at 4 p.m.
