Elmer Peronneau Milam, 85 of Roanoke passed away Sunday September 25, 2016.
He is the son of the late William Riley Milam and Nellie Miles Milam. Mr. Milam was a member of College Lutheran Church in Salem, an active member of the Roanoke YMCA and served at The Chosin Few Reservoir in Korea while serving in The United States Marine Corp.
He was an avid golf player and loved to feed his birds.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother: William Riley Milam, JR.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Patsy Milam, his children: Jeffery Milam (Violy), Lynn Fitzgerald (David) and Darryl Milam. Grandchildren: Ashley Saunders (Jesse), Chris Milam, Jeremy Milam and Whitley Milam. Great Grandchildren: Jesse Saunders, IV “Bunky Boy” and Bently Michael Milam.
Sister: Pearl Katherine Cooper. Special Friends and golf partner: Tommy and Kathy Firebaugh. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at College Lutheran Church 210 S. College Ave, Salem, Virginia with Pastor Wynemah Hinlicky officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services.
