May the God give you the strength to carry on, and the peace of mind to recognize the gift that is his Kingdom.
During the five years that I knew Paul, he provided me with a lot of joy inspite of his challenges. One of which was his compassion through the loss of my dog. This dog I had for 19 years. I wore a locket with her ashes. Paul noticed me wearing it. He told me that it looked like a Jewish symbol. I explained what it was. After that day, Paul would make sure I had that locket when I worked. We would speak of my dogs frequently. A donation was made to the charity where I adopted my dogs on his behalf.
A lot of people just saw Paul's challenges. This was just his shell. On a day of clarity, he ask why God did this to him. I told him that maybe his purpose was to educate the staff about mental illness, to teach us patience and understanding I remember his smile at those words. Those who worked with him, saw who he really was. Paul was a kind, loving, compassionate person. He will be on patient that will not fade from memory.
Sincerely, His Angel of the morning.
